Leonarda Priore was excellent as Ma Moss (The Tender Land).  She made us empathize with Ma’s bitter resignation about her own life and her desperate hopefulness for her two daughters.  Most impressive of all was her rendition at Laurie’s pre-graduation party of “Long Time Ago”, a song that is not part of Copland’s libretto, but which was added to give flavor to the Chelsea production.  For this number Priore shifted from an operatic vocal style to a simple homespun manner of an unschooled singer, creating a lyrical, sincerely tender performance of the song. Arlo McKinnon - Opera News 6-13-14

The Tender Land was anchored by mezzo Leonarda Priore, co-founder of Chelsea Opera, who totally convinced as Ma Moss who worries about her two daughters. We have heard Ms. Priore in recital but it is on the stage that her talent best expresses itself. We were moved by her aria "Long Time Ago", sung with beauty and deep feeling. Meche Kroop - Voce de meche  6-14-14

Priore rose to the occasion in a powerful, flawless performance, exercising complete control over her abilities as both singer and actress...she gave us a glimpse of a Zia who...may ...be experiencing a change of heart.”
Lou Santacroce
former producer/ host National Public Radio's "At the Opera"

Priore sang beautifully and with great warmth, commanding the stage whenever she was on.….Priore managed to inhabit (Augusta/The Ballad of Baby Doe) fully, with obvious affection and understanding.”

As Carmen, Leonarda Priore was superb.  She dominated the opera, almost never leaving the stage.  She was charismatic and overwhelmingly sensual.  Priore also portrayed Carmen as a self-sufficient woman, and at the same time emotionally immatue.  Priore's acting never faltered.  Her voice is strong, especially in the low register where her sultry seductive quality soared.  She was a joy to watch and hear.  Carol Cohan - Savannah News

Leonarda Priore...entertained us with a hilarious rendering of David Baker's Someone's been sending me flowers."  The Opera Insider 3-28-12

"Leonarda Priore as ....La Principessa had all the ingredients of the icy Princess Turandot. Her regal renaissance costume countered with the simple white vestments of her remorseful niece.  La Principessa made a feeble attempt to hold Angelica but her basic unforgiving unyielding nature prevented this. Her heart was cast in stone, and Ms. Priore’s stern and vengeful powerful and deep mezzo made this scene an indelible one. "
